Virtual Somatic Therapy

What Is Virtual Somatic Therapy?

Virtual somatic therapy honors the same principles as in-person work:
Listening to the body, following what’s present, and building regulation from the inside out.

The exact same verbal prompts used to enable embodied inquiry in person are used in virtual sessions.

In our video sessions, we engage the nervous system through:

  • Guided self-touch

  • Gentle movement or stillness

  • Breath awareness

  • Emotional tracking

  • Parts dialogue

  • Non-dominant hand writing for expressive integration

  • Simple use of props—pillows, blankets, yoga mats, or anything supportive

  • Creative expression or simple art when helpful including Bilateral Trauma Art Therapy

You’ll learn techniques that help you reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system, and develop a deeper understanding of your inner world—all within your own environment.

Common Focus Areas:

Virtual somatic therapy is especially supportive if you're working through:

  • Anxiety, chronic stress, or nervous system dysregulation

  • Trauma responses like emotional shutdown or hypervigilance

  • Difficulty sleeping or grounding

  • Feeling disconnected from your body or emotions

  • Moments when in-person therapy isn’t feasible

Your 50-Minute Virtual Somatic Experience

Each 50-minute session is spacious, attuned, and responsive to you—not a script or protocol.

What a session might include:

  • A private, secure HIPAA-compliant video connection

  • Body-based dialogue to notice what’s alive in your system

  • Guided practices like breathwork, movement, and self-touch

  • Techniques you can practice between sessions to build resilience

The goal is always the same: to meet what’s here with curiosity, care, and a somatic lens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this really work online?
Yes. Your nervous system responds to attuned presence—whether in the room or through a screen. Many clients are surprised by how powerful virtual sessions feel.

What about the touch part?
I’ll guide you through gentle, supportive self-touch practices. Many clients find this not only effective but deeply empowering.

What if something goes wrong with the tech?
We’ll have backup methods for communication if needed. Connection hiccups happen, but they don’t disrupt the heart of the work.

Can I mix virtual and in-person sessions?
If you're local to NYC, yes! Many clients move between formats depending on the week, their energy, or life demands.

Virtual Somatic Therapy Sessions

Support from Anywhere

Virtual Somatic Therapy Sessions offer ease of access at a reduced cost, bringing body-based healing to you, wherever you are. These 50-minute sessions blend body-focused dialogue and self-touch, supporting your nervous system in finding more ease and connection. Rather than following a set structure, we move at a pace that honors your emotions and what your body needs in the moment. My role is to help you deepen that connection, creating space for healing that is both intuitive and grounded.

Each session is collaborative, creative, and experiential, integrating Somatic Therapy cues, Parts Dialogue, Bi-Lateral movement, and sound. Depending on what emerges, we may also explore Sensorimotor art (if you have simple supplies on hand) or sound frequencies to support deeper integration. Whether you’re navigating stress, processing trauma, or seeking a deeper connection with yourself, these remote sessions offer gentle yet powerful support—all from the comfort of your own space.
